Willow Grove Heritage Farm honey is raw and unpasteurized. This honey contains pollen and honeycomb beeswax and is bottled right from the hive without using any heated tools or heat in the extraction process. The numerous, essential health benefits of honey that contains pollen and honeycomb wax are the natural vitamins, minerals and amino acids that are preserved. The bees are only fed their own honey. They are not fed sugar syrup. No chemicals or antibiotics are used on the bees to manage varroa mites, disease or fungus. Only natural essential oils are used such as: white thyme, oregano, clove, peppermint, cinnamon and wintergreen oils. Lemon grass oil is used to calm the bees instead of smoke. There has never been pesticides used on the farm property for the last 100 years. All the trees, clover, vegetables and flowers are naturally grown. Some of the trees are over 150 years old on this heritage property. The bees forage on willow, basswood, tulip, maple, oak, walnut, apple, pear, lilac, hawthorn and slippery elm trees as well as white and yellow sweet blossom clover. The honey is extra white in colour and has a uniquely delicate and fresh taste from the different blossoms that the bees forage on.
